Where to start? We were three of around twenty friends who booked the entire villa complex. I wouldn't want my use of the word "complex" to give the wrong impression: Sri Villas feels like a lovely, rambling private home, not at all like a hotel. It does, however, offer all the bits and bobs that make a holiday everything one could wish for. The three villas sit loosely clustered around a beautiful pool which borders the garden which, in turn, reaches right to the beach, a postcard crescent of golden sand. The staff is fantastic, nothing's too much trouble. The rooms are light and breezy and not at all cramped or cluttered. Upstairs rooms have gorgeous sea views, a real treat with a gin and tonic in hand. Or two. There's no shortage of neighbourhood bars and restaurants, but there's no need to venture out if you feel like staying in: the Sri Villas kitchen puts on delicious Sri Lankan food, anything you like from pleasantly spiced to eye-wateringly hot. Anyway, enough of my yacking, it's a great place to stay. Highly recommended. Superb. Oh, one last thing: the beaches of Induruwa face almost due west, so the sunsets are absolutely stunning.
