Нам понравился отель. Хотя в нем всего 4 номера. Вокруг конечно много небольших домиков местных жителей, даже лачуг. Есть рядом вагончики пошарпанные, деревянные, где живут местные жители или приезжают на выходные.
Но в самом отеле все устроено хорошо -просторные красивые номера, все необходимое в номере - вода 2 бутылки, кофе-чай наборы. Чайник. Посуда. Очень чисто. Комната и ванна с аркой без двери, поэтому лучше не для семьи и друзей, а только для семейных пар. В номере душ. Есть принадлежности для душа.
Довольно дорогой ужин по меню, но очень вкусно и качественно приготовлено. Поэтому не жалко. В цену включен налог около 10-20%, имейте ввиду. Можно заказать по меню в ресторане и вам принесут в номер на балкон, где на фоне моря приятно поужинать в номере. Территории у отеля нет, бассейна тоже. Это бутик-отель. Но если вы привыкли к роскошным отелям, вам сюда не нужно.
Очень хорошие люди работают в отеле - постоянно помогают и опекают. Мы много раз брали через них машину и тук-тук, чтобы поехать в Галле или еще дальше. Очень старательные. Им большая благодарность!

This is realy a fantastic place to stay in Unawatuna. The staff is very friendly and helpfull and the rooms are spacious and very clean. Every room has a balcony to enjoy the scenery. The restaurant on the beach serves high quality food and is just delicious.

We stayed 5 nights at King Fisher with our 3 month old son. The room was very clean and well planned out. The balcony was our favorite feature as it was nice to sit, relax, listen to the ocean and sometimes see a kingfisher bird fly into sight. The service by all staff was friendly and efficient. We ate many times at the hotel and enjoyed the meals...our favorites being the Spicy Ginger Prawns, Prawn Pita Wrap and the mixed fruit juice! We ate at 4 other places along the beach and wished we just ate at the hotel restaurant! The owner was very kind and ensured my wife, son and I made it to our next stop in Sri Lanka safe and sound.

we did love this hotel could not complain about anything they did . However Friday and saturday is disco night and the boom boom of house music was awful . ear plugs did not work for me as I could feel the beat in my chest. fireworks at 2.00 am on these night is normal. Other than that food great staff lovely decor chic.

Kingfisher gave as a fantastic reception giving us a hint what was to come. What more could you ask for .... an excellent restaurant on "your own" beach with a beautiful, generous room with a fantastic view just two stairs up. with its four de luxe rooms Kingfisher is special in many ways... located directly on the beach on a quiet area makes it close to paradise and a private little hideaway. The amazing staff and owners made everything possible for us to feel "at home" and also special. The restaurant has an exciting menu with top-class food, surely the best in Unawatuna at very sympathetic prices. A social chapter should be written about the beach bar... the best mede drinks by the coolest bartenders... in a fantastic setting. Kingfisher is hard to leave but very easy to come to.... which we surely will. Quoting Tina Turner; "Simply the best"

Best place to stay on Unawatuna

The hotel is right on the Unawatuna beach and one of the most buzzing and popular spots on Unawatuna. The hotel's bar is a few meters from the shore. The tables on the sand under the palm trees. The room's verandah overlooks the sea. The room & bathroom are spacious, modern and clean. The bathroom does not have a door so better if you are a couple! Else stay alone! Great value for money. Only drawback is one cannot chill out on their side of the beach because there isnt much dry sand there and its a little rocky. Guests have to walk down the beach and grab a lounge chair available. But its really no big deal and you would do that anyway to check out the beach and restaurants along the beach. The bar can get a little noisy.

Just back from 12 night stay in Sri Lanka. We were keen to visit some beach side restaurants (we were staying in Koggala about 15 minutes away by Tuk Tuk) and read brilliant reviews previously about Kingfisher so decided to try it out for ourselves. The setting was idyllic with candle lit tables set on a small sandy part of beach next to the beach bar, casual laid back place with surprisingly attentive service. Aside from the fantastic setting the food is the star of the show in particular the fresh caught seafood. Brilliant simply cooked food we sampled on 4 occasions. Staff were friendly and the service was excellent. Cannot recommend this place highly enough. Will be back next year. Message to Kingfisher, please don't change a thing - you're doing everything right ! Thanks for a great time....

Best Food ever on Unawatuna Beach, cleanest kitchen, lovely presented plates, all of us get served Same time, the Portion was just perfect, amazing, hard to top.
Dont mention the hospitality, go and findout yourself.

Superb hotel at a quiet corner of Unuwatuna

We stayed here for one night and the room was the nicest we had on our whole trip. Room was very nice and super clean, nice large bed. Bathroom was very nice with a sea view. Only four rooms so nice and quiet. Really nice large balcony to the sea with comfortable chairs. Staff were helpful and nice. Food was very good.
Nice Friendly Hotel

This was booked after much research for hotel accommodation in Unawatuna. The hotel is located at the far end of the beach which is quiter although at weekends at night a close by cafe bar turns into an all night music venue with fireworks ...two choices join in or get ear plugs. The beach front is very private with direct access to the water with sun beds and just set back slightly an eating area where you can enjoy breakfast and lunch. There is evidence of last years demolition of buildings on the beach on the left hand side and a large blue ship freight container on the right hand side. These are a bit unightly but the privacy and lovely beach to the front make up for this. The hotel itself is very clean and the bedrooms maintained to a very high standard by the staff. Their is a lack of hanging storeage space for long term stays.We did ask for more hangers and 4 were provided but with no draws or cupboards a lot of our clothes remained in the cases. The restaurant was very friendly and the food of a good standard. We would have loved to have seen some typical Sri Lanken meals on the menu as the chef was clearly very capable. This is a lovely little hotel probably one of the best in Unawatuna and we enjoyed our stay very much which was for nearly two weeks. One tip the pink tuk tuk outside the hotel, use him every opportunity he is a great guide and will make your holiday with some of the trips to Galle etc.
